The winner of the Pacific Sailing School, CYCA and Mariner Boating Holidays joint promotion was announced prior to the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race Crew Party on Saturday 20 December.

The lucky winner was Ms Cecilia Smith.

The promotion was targeted at new customers of Pacific Sailing School who had  undertaken any one of their sailing courses between May and the end of November and who successfully became a full member of the CYCA. Once qualified they automatically went into the draw to win one place on board the Mariner Boating Holidays 2015 Greek Island Odyssey from May 8 – 23.  The magnificent prize including return airfares to Greece and the place on board the 13 night Aegean Yacht Rally is valued at $7,500.

“This has been a very worthwhile joint initiative between the CYCA, Pacific Sailing School and Mariner Boating Holidays. I’d like to thank all who participated and I congratulate the lucky winner and thank Pacific Sailing School for introducing new members to the CYCA and Mariner Boating Holidays for providing the wonderful prize as the incentive,” said John Cameron, CYCA Commodore.

Trevor Joyce, Managing Director of Mariner Boating Holidays said, “Mariner Boating Holidays have been delighted to participate in this joint initiative. This is a unique opportunity for the lucky winner to further develop their sailing skills whilst experiencing the Greek Islands in the eastern Aegean, most of which are off the beaten track.   The rally will sail downwind from Samos to Rhodes stopping at Arki, Patmos, Lipsos, Kalimnos, Lipsos, Kalimnos, Nisiros, Symi and Khalkis.”

Terry Wise, Principal of Pacific Sailing School said “I’d like to thank the CYCA and Mariner Boating Holidays for agreeing to participate in the joint promotion. During the promotion period we have introduced over 50 people to the sport of sailing and to membership of the CYCA. In addition, I am delighted that four of the six boats participating in the Mariner Boating Holidays Aegean Yacht Rally 2015 have been booked by clients of Pacific Sailing School. We hope to repeat the joint promotion again in the future”.

There is still space on the 2015 Aegean Yacht Rally.   Call Mariner Boating Holidays on 9966-1244 or email Emma on for details.
