Last week was definitely the start of the silly season and it only gets busier from here! The packed schedule included the continued processing of entries for this year’s Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race, a number of weekday corporate events, Monday and Wednesday night Twilight series, the media conference to launch the Hobart Race, the the 2017 Musto International Youth Match Racing Championship, the three-day 50th Anniversary Admirals Cup Regatta, the Bird Island Race with some great footage from Bow Caddy Media, and the CYCA Annual Children's Christmas Party.
Race Village Bump-in This week the bump-in commences for the 2017 Sydney Race Village. The soft opening will take place on Friday as the village hosts the pre-luncheon drinks for the second annual RSHYR Corporate Luncheon with 2016 Tattersall Cup Winner, Jim Delegat, the guest speaker. There are a few tickets only left for Friday’s luncheon should you wish to attend. The members' car park adjacent to the clubhouse will be closed this week during the bump-in, opening back up from Saturday 9 December.
Clippers set up office The off-water Clippers team from the UK also started setting up their on-site office this morning in preparation for the arrival of their 11 boats from around 14 December. Read more about CYCA member Wendy Tuck who is skippering Sanya Serenity Coast and currently the leads the fleet on her return to Sydney.
New Membership Cards ready for collection Reception has commenced the handing out of the new ‘proxy’ membership cards. The cards provide 24/7 access into the new change and laundary facilities in the Sailing/Marina building, but the change-over of technology in the car park is still to be completed. However you are advised to collect your new card from reception as soon as possible as the car park change-over will happen shortly.
